Privacy Policy
Effective date: Fill inEFFECTIVE DATE
This policy explains what information CheerTicketing collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at support@cheerticketing.com.
The short version#
- We sell tickets for cheer and dance event promoters.
- The promoter runs the event and is the seller of your ticket.
- We run the ticketing service, handle fan support and issue any refunds.
- What we collect: what we need to sell and deliver tickets. That is your name and email, your order and tickets, and some technical details that help prevent fraud.
- Card details: your card number goes straight to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store it.
- The promoter of your event sees your order, including your name and email, so it can run its event.
- What we don't do:
- We don't sell your information or share it for targeted advertising.
- We don't use analytics, ad trackers or tracking pixels.
- Messages:
- You always get emails about your own orders.
- Reminders and news are optional and come with an unsubscribe link.
- Texts are only sent if you opt in.
- Your data rights: you can download or delete your data at any time from Account › Privacy and settings, or by emailing support@cheerticketing.com.
1. Who we are#
"CheerTicketing", "we", "us" and "our" mean CheerTicketing LLC. Our contact details:
- Mail: 6320 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Suite 1630, #326, Woodland Hills, CA 91367, USA
- Email: support@cheerticketing.com
What this policy covers:
- Our website and fan sites: cheerticketing.com, and every promoter's ticket site on our platform (for example cheerticketing.com/your-event-promoter).
- Fan accounts. Your CheerTicketing fan account, and the order and ticket pages we send you.
- Messages we send: emails and, when available, text messages.
- Wallet passes we create for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
- The promoter app, used by promoters and their staff.
- The Scan & Sell apps: the web gate scanner and the Android app, used by gate and door staff.
What it does not cover:
- Information about our own employees.
- The promoter's own websites, apps or mailing lists.
- Venues and other third-party services you may use on your own, such as Stripe's own website or the venue's website.
Promoters and other services: each promoter is a separate business with its own privacy practices; see section 6. Third-party services follow their own privacy policies.
2. What we collect#
What we collect depends on how you use CheerTicketing.
When you buy tickets online#
- Your name and email address. You type these at checkout. You enter your email twice so a typo doesn't lose your tickets.
- Your order:
- the event, ticket types, quantities and prices
- the order number and the time you bought
- the ticket policy you agreed to, and when you agreed
- Your marketing choice: whether you ticked the box to get news from the promoter. We record the exact wording you saw, the time, and your IP address and browser, as proof of your choice.
- Your text-message choice and mobile number, only if you opt in to texts (see section 10).
- An accessibility request, if you make one, such as a wheelchair space or a quiet space, and any note you add. This can reveal information about health or disability. We use it only to arrange access for you (see section 2, "Sensitive information").
- Payment details:
- You pay through Stripe. You enter your card, Apple Pay or Google Pay details directly with Stripe, and the payment goes to the promoter's own Stripe account.
- What we never receive: your full card number or security code.
- What we receive from Stripe:
- the payment's status
- the card brand (for example Visa) and the last 4 digits
- a card "fingerprint" that lets us spot the same card used twice without knowing the number
- the results of Stripe's security checks, such as whether the postal code matched
- Purchase security information. When you check out we record:
- your IP address
- your browser and device type
- your browser's language setting
- the time
We use these to prevent fraud and to prove the purchase if a payment is disputed.
Ticket holders and people who receive a ticket#
- The name on each ticket. At first, every ticket carries the buyer's name. If you send a ticket to someone, it carries the name you enter for them.
- The recipient's email address. When you send ("transfer") a ticket, you give us the recipient's name and email so we can deliver it.
- Guest-list names. A promoter may add guest-list or will-call names, such as a pickup name and an optional email.
Children's names: a ticket holder may be a child, for example an athlete's younger sibling. See section 13 for how we handle children's names.
When you buy at the door#
- The Scan & Sell app can take card payments (tap to pay or a card reader, both through Stripe) or cash.
- No name or email is needed. Your order is recorded as a "Walk-up buyer".
- Receipts: if you ask for an email receipt, the seller types your email into the app. We store it on your order, and for card sales Stripe also sends its card receipt to that address.
Fan accounts (optional)#
You never need an account to buy tickets. If you create one, we collect:
- Your name and email.
- How you sign in:
- a one-time code we email you
- a password. Our sign-in provider stores only a protected (hashed) version, and it checks that your password hasn't appeared in a known data breach.
- your Google account. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture link with us, and we save your name and email. To confirm
- Sign-in records:
- when you signed in
- your IP address
- your browser and device type
- an approximate city, only if our hosting provider supplies one (it doesn't today)
We use these records to protect your account. For example, we email you when a new device signs in.
- One account works on every promoter's site. When you sign in, we tell you: "Signing in shares your name and email with the organizer for your orders only."
Promoters and promoter staff#
- Your account details:
- your name and email
- your role (Admin or Staff)
- your sign-in records
- your two-step sign-in setup. We do not see your authenticator secret.
- Your organization's details:
- name, web address, logo and brand colors
- support email
- events, ticket types and prices
- Stripe connection details. Your Stripe account belongs to you, and Stripe handles its identity checks. From Stripe we receive:
- the account's status and any outstanding requirements
- payout information, including only the last 4 digits and the name of your bank
- Account approval and recovery details: information you give us when you ask to go live or need to recover access, such as a legal name or the last 4 digits of a bank account.
- A record of changes made in your workspace. This includes the rare occasions when CheerTicketing staff access it to help you. When that happens, we email the workspace owner, and every action is logged.
Gate and door staff (including volunteers)#
- Your account details:
- the email your invite was sent to
- the first name you enter, which is shown to your supervisor
- your sign-in records
- What you do at the gate:
- each scan: the ticket, the result, the time, the gate, the device, and who scanned
- door sales and cash shifts, including the names of the seller and witness
- Device information from the phone you use:
- an app install ID
- phone model, manufacturer and Android version
- app version
- camera status
- whether the phone is ready for Tap to Pay
- diagnostic logs about connection and card-reader problems
Location: the Android app asks for location permission only because Stripe's card-payment software requires it. The app does not send your location to us. Stripe may collect it; see Stripe's privacy policy.
Ticket data on your phone: to work offline, the gate app keeps a list on the phone with each ticket's holder name, ticket type, order number and any gate note. It never includes buyers' emails, phone numbers or full ticket codes. The list is erased when you sign out, when your access ends, or when your access is removed.
When you contact support#
- What you send us: your name, email, message, and the order or event it is about.
- Technical details from the help form, such as your browser type.
- Replies to texts. If you reply to one of our texts with a question, we treat it as a support request.
- Our support tools:
- email to support@ is handled in our Google Workspace mailbox
- all requests go through our support inbox software (Chatwoot), which we host ourselves
When you visit any of our sites#
- Standard technical information your browser sends:
- IP address
- browser and device type
- the pages you request
Our hosting provider receives this information, and we may keep it in server logs. To confirm
- Fonts from Google. Our pages load fonts from Google's servers. When they load, Google receives your IP address and browser information.
- Rate-limit records. For open forms (sign-in codes, "Find my tickets", privacy requests, help), we briefly record your IP address and a scrambled (hashed) version of the email you typed. This limits abuse. We delete these records after 2 days.
Sensitive information#
- Accessibility requests can reveal disability or health information. We use them only to arrange access at the event and to show the promoter and gate staff what was agreed. We do not use them to make inferences about you.
- Account passwords and sign-in codes are used only to sign you in securely.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, dates of birth or precise location.
3. How we use your information#
We use your information to:
- Sell and deliver your tickets:
- create your order and issue tickets
- email your receipt and tickets
- build wallet passes
- let you view, print and send tickets
- Run entry at the event:
- help gate staff check tickets, including offline
- spot duplicate or replaced codes
- help staff confirm accessibility arrangements
- Tell you about your event:
- changes, postponements and cancellations
- refund options
- important event-day information
- Provide support: answer questions, fix wrong email addresses, and handle refund requests and refunds.
- Process refunds and payment disputes, including sending proof of purchase to Stripe when a payment is disputed.
- Prevent fraud and keep the service secure:
- spot duplicate purchases
- limit abuse of open forms
- alert you to new sign-ins
- keep audit records of staff and promoter actions
- Send optional messages you can turn off: event reminders, and the promoter's news if you agreed to it (see section 9).
- Run and improve the service: fix problems, keep the service working, and keep business and tax records. We do this without analytics or tracking tools.
- Comply with the law: meet legal, tax and accounting duties, and respond to lawful requests.
What we don't do:
- We don't use your information for advertising.
- We don't build profiles about you.
- We don't make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Fraud screening: our payment processor, Stripe, may decline a payment based on its own fraud screening.
4. Legal bases (if they apply to you)#
Some privacy laws, such as those in the UK and the European Union, require us to state a legal basis for using your information. Ours are:
- Contract: to sell, deliver and support your tickets and your account.
- Legitimate interests: to prevent fraud, keep the service secure, run entry at events, handle disputes, and improve the service. In each case we have weighed your rights.
- Consent: for promoter news and for text messages. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: for tax, accounting and lawful requests.
5. Who we share your information with#
The promoter of your event#
See section 6.
Gate and door staff#
The promoter's gate and door staff see each ticket holder's name, ticket type, order number and any confirmed gate note, so they can admit people.
Service providers#
These companies process information for us, under contracts that limit how they can use it:
| Provider | What they do for us | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments online and at the door | Your email, order details, card details you enter with them, and payment-dispute evidence (your name, email, purchase IP address and order history at the gate) |
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage (United States) | All information described in this policy |
| Railway | Hosting for our websites, apps and support inbox | Website traffic and server logs |
| Resend | Delivering email | Your email address and the message |
| Twilio | Delivering text messages (once texting is available) | Your mobile number and the message |
| Chatwoot (software we host ourselves) | Our support inbox | Your name, email and support messages |
| "Sign in with Google", our support@ mailbox (Google Workspace), and web fonts | Sign-in details, support emails, and your IP address when fonts load | |
| WalletWallet | Creating Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes | Pass contents only: event, venue, date, ticket code, ticket type, holder name and ticket policy. Not your email, phone or order number |
| Apple and Google | Storing and updating wallet passes on your phone | The wallet pass |
Stripe and Google also act as independent businesses for some purposes, such as Stripe's own fraud prevention and Google's own account services. Their own privacy policies apply to those uses.
Others#
- When the law requires it. For example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
- To protect people and the service. For example, to stop fraud or to protect someone's safety.
- If our business changes hands. If CheerTicketing is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer to the new owner. This policy, or one at least as protective, would continue to apply.
- With your direction or consent. For example, when you send a ticket to a friend.
Text messages#
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. All of the sharing described above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. To confirm
6. How promoters use your information#
The promoter is the seller.
- When you buy a ticket, you are buying from the promoter of that event.
- The promoter runs the event and is the seller of your ticket ("merchant of record"). The payment goes to the promoter's own Stripe account, and your card statement shows the promoter's name.
- CheerTicketing provides the ticketing service. We also handle fan support and refunds.
What the promoter receives. So it can run its event, the promoter of your event can see:
- About you:
- your name and email address
- your orders, tickets and order history with that promoter, ticket holder names and ticket codes
- whether you agreed to receive its news
- your accessibility request
- your mobile number, if you gave one To confirm
- Admins only: the purchase security information (IP address, browser and device) for orders on its events.
- What the promoter does not see: other promoters' customers, or your card number.
How the promoter may use it.
- To run its event: admitting you, contacting you about the event, arranging accessibility, keeping its business records, and handling disputes on its Stripe account.
- Messages through CheerTicketing. Promoters can send messages to an event's ticket buyers and holders through CheerTicketing. These include event updates, and news only if you agreed to it.
- No contact-list download. Promoters cannot download a list of fans' email addresses from CheerTicketing.
The promoter is a separate business.
- The promoter decides how it uses information it receives for its event, and its own privacy policy covers that use.
- We require promoters to use fan information only for their own events and lawful business purposes, to keep it secure, and not to sell it. To confirm
- Questions about a promoter's own use of your information should go to that promoter. You can also ask us; we will help you reach them.
What deleting your data does on the promoter side. If you ask us to delete your data, we remove your name and contact details from the order records promoters see in CheerTicketing. Their customer lists then show "Deleted". Copies a promoter has made outside CheerTicketing are the promoter's responsibility.
7. We do not sell or share your information for advertising#
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act.
- We have not done so in the past 12 months.
- This includes children: we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Sending your order to the promoter of your event is not a sale. It happens because you chose to buy a ticket from that promoter.
Do Not Sell or Share, and Global Privacy Control (GPC). We don't sell or share your information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Even so, if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser and any account signed in on it. To confirm
Do Not Track. We don't track you across other websites, and we don't allow others to track you on ours. So we don't change how we work when your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
8. Cookies and similar technologies#
We use only cookies and browser storage needed for the service to work. We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, and that is why we don't show a cookie banner.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-token | Keeps you signed in | Up to 400 days, renewed while you use the site; removed when you sign out |
sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Protects the "Sign in with Google" and password-reset steps | Minutes |
ct_recent_orders | Remembers your last few orders on this device, so we can show "you already have tickets" and let you fix a wrong email right after buying | 90 days |
ct_lookup | Keeps your "Find my tickets" results open on the device that opened the link | Until the link expires (24 hours) |
ct_staff_org | For CheerTicketing staff only: marks a staff session inside a promoter workspace | 8 hours |
Offline storage on your device. Our apps also store some information on your device so they work without signal:
- Fan site: order and ticket pages you open, including QR codes, are saved so you can show your ticket offline.
- Gate apps: the offline ticket list described in section 2.
Clearing storage. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you do, you will be signed out, and saved offline tickets will need to be reopened.
9. Emails#
Emails you always get:
- receipts and tickets
- ticket transfers
- sign-in and security codes
- changes, postponements or cancellations of events you bought for
- refund and dispute updates
- privacy request updates
- replies to your support requests
These messages are part of the service and don't have an unsubscribe link. If you need help with one, contact support.
Emails you can turn off:
- Event reminders: a reminder before an event you bought for.
- Promoter news: news and future events from a promoter, if you ticked the box at checkout, or if you turned it on in your account.
How to turn them off:
- Every optional email has an unsubscribe link, and supports one-click unsubscribe in your email app.
- Signed-in fans can also turn news on or off for each promoter under Account › Messages.
Unsubscribing never stops your tickets, receipts or event-change notices.
Who emails come from. Emails come from CheerTicketing (no-reply@cheerticketing.com). Replies go to support@cheerticketing.com.
Delivery records. We record whether an email was delivered, bounced or marked as spam, so we can fix delivery problems. We do not track whether you open emails or click links. To confirm
10. Text messages (SMS)#
To confirm
What you get. If you opt in, CheerTicketing texts you about the tickets you bought:
- Ticket texts:
- a link to your tickets after you buy
- a link to fix your contact details if your ticket email bounces
- Event-day updates from the promoter, sent by CheerTicketing, such as door times, changes or weather delays.
- Replies to questions you text us.
No marketing texts. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.
How you opt in.
- At checkout, tick "Text me my tickets and event-day updates" and enter your mobile number. The box is never ticked for you.
- Next to the box we show this disclosure: "Texts from CheerTicketing for [promoter]: your tickets and event-day updates. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Not required to buy."
- Opting in is never required to buy tickets.
- We record your number, the time you opted in, and the version of the wording you agreed to.
Message frequency varies with your orders and events.
- Typically you will get one text after you buy, plus a few on event day.
- We never send more than 12 texts a day to one number.
- Except for your ticket text and replies to your keywords, we send texts only between 8 AM and 9 PM in the event's time zone.
Costs. Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop.
- Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPTOUT) at any time. We confirm with one final text, and then we stop texting that number for every promoter.
- Reply START to opt back in.
- You can also choose "Stop texts" from the unsubscribe page or your account.
How to get help.
- Reply HELP (or INFO), visit cheerticketing.com/help, or email support@cheerticketing.com.
- Our HELP reply reads: "CheerTicketing: ticket and event-day texts. Help: cheerticketing.com/help. Reply STOP to opt out."
Supported numbers. US and Canadian mobile numbers only.
Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We use Twilio only to deliver our messages.
How long we keep texts. We delete the content of text messages 30 days after sending. We keep your number and any STOP request so we can keep honoring it.
11. How long we keep information#
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, then delete or de-identify it. To confirm
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Order and payment records (amounts, dates, tickets) | To confirm, for tax, accounting and dispute purposes. Your name and contact details are removed sooner if you ask us to delete them |

We may keep information longer when the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute, enforce our terms, or prevent fraud.
12. How we protect your information#
How we protect it:
- Encryption: all our sites use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our database provider encrypts stored data. To confirm
- No card numbers: we never store card numbers; Stripe handles them.
- Codes and links:
- We store sign-in codes, invite links and lookup links only in scrambled (hashed) form, and they expire quickly.
- Ticket codes are cryptographically signed, and they are replaced when a ticket is sent to someone else.
- Staff access:
- Promoter Admins and CheerTicketing staff use two-step sign-in.
- Access is limited by role, and staff actions are logged.
- CheerTicketing staff can enter a promoter's workspace only for a stated reason and a limited time, and the owner is told.
- Abuse limits: we limit how often forms can be used, to prevent abuse.
Keep your order link private. The link in your order email opens your order and lets anyone holding it view your tickets and send them to someone else. Treat it like a key. If you think someone else has it, contact support.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
13. Children#
Who the service is for. CheerTicketing is meant for adults buying tickets. You must be 18 or older to buy tickets or to create a fan account.
Under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Children's names on tickets. Cheer and dance events often include young athletes and family members. So a parent or guardian may give us a child's name as a ticket holder, for example when sending a ticket to the child. A promoter may also add a child's name to a guest list. When that happens:
- We use the child's name only to put it on the ticket and wallet pass, and to show it to the promoter and gate staff for entry.
- We do not ask for or keep any other information about the child.
- We do not market to children.
- We don't sell or share any child's information.
Please use an adult's email address. When you send a ticket for a child, please use a parent's or guardian's email address, not the child's.
If a child sent us information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact support@cheerticketing.com and we will delete it.
14. Your choices and rights#
Your rights. Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access: send you a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Delete: delete your information.
- Correct: fix information that is wrong.
- Stop messages: stop optional emails or texts (see sections 9 and 10).
People in some states have more rights by law; see sections 15 and 16. We will not treat you differently for using your privacy rights.
How to make a request#
- Signed in:
- Go to Account › Privacy and settings (cheerticketing.com/account/privacy).
- "Download my data" emails you a link to a file of your data. The link works for 7 days.
- "Delete my account" deletes your account after you confirm with a code we email you.
- No account, or lost access:
- Use the form at cheerticketing.com/account/privacy/request.
- Enter the email you bought tickets with. We email a code to that address to check it's you.
- Our team then completes your request.
- By email or mail: contact support@cheerticketing.com, or write to the address in section 1.
- To confirm
Verification.
- We check that a request is really from you by emailing a one-time code to the address on your orders. If that's not possible, our team will verify you another way.
- We may need more information before we can act on a request.
Timing. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner. If we need more time (up to the extra time the law allows), we'll tell you why.
What deletion means.
- What we remove:
- We delete your fan account.
- We remove your name, email, phone number and ticket holder names from your orders.
- We remove the purchase security information linked to you.
- What we keep, without your name or contact details: the payment records of your orders, because the law and card-network rules require them. Valid tickets keep working at the door by their code.
- Recent orders: if an order was paid less than 14 days ago, or has an open refund or payment dispute, we finish deleting it once that ends. We will tell you when this applies.
- What promoters see: customer lists in CheerTicketing show "Deleted" instead of your name.
To confirm
Correction.
- Right after buying, you can fix a wrong email on the device you bought with ("Wrong email? Fix it").
- For any other correction, contact support.
Authorized agents. You can ask someone to make a request for you. We will ask for proof that they have your permission, and we may still need to verify you directly.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing support@cheerticketing.com with "Privacy appeal" in the subject. We will answer within 60 days To confirm. If you are not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
15. California residents#
This section adds to the rest of this policy. It covers the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA). To confirm
Your California rights. If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it.
- Delete personal information we collected from you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do neither (section 7).
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes the CCPA allows without this right, such as providing the service you asked for and security. So we do not offer this option.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Use the methods in section 14.

Disclosures for direct marketing ("Shine the Light"). If a promoter sends you its news through CheerTicketing, it does so only with your consent. You can ask us once a year, free of charge, about any personal information we disclosed to third parties for their own direct marketing in the previous calendar year. Email support@cheerticketing.com with "Shine the Light" in the subject. To confirm
16. Residents of other US states#
Several states give residents rights over personal data, including:
- Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia.
These rights include the rights to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of data, and profiling.
- What we already do: we offer access, correction, deletion and a downloadable copy (in a common format, JSON) to everyone.
